What used to be a toss word for IT experts only, marketers and agencies are now earnestly adopting Big Data, applying it to their strategies and marketing programmes.

The savviest companies are already investing in a huge way in Big Data. For instance, companies and brands such as Laneige, Mercedes-Benz, SingTel, StarHub and more have already spoken up on how they are utilising Big Data to their advantage.

For example, chief marketing officer of StarHub Jeannie Yap spoke on how data scientist would be the next hot job, and talked about how the company has been working with brands such as Resorts World and Wildlife Reserves Singapore on big data. Also, in Hong Kong, leisure destination Ngong Ping 360 earlier talked about choosing big data over aggressive advertising or PR to promote its designation.
