Several companies have been demonstrating their commitment to helping Hongkongers cope with the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. Well Link Insurance Group joins their numbers with its announcement to donate HK$1 million to the FTU Employment Development Service to better the citywide supply of surgical masks.

The donation is going towards the establishment of a surgical mask production facility in Hong Kong. Masks produced there will be given to the elderly, underprivileged, and people in urgent need.

“Amid these challenging times for Hong Kong, it is critical that we stay united. By coming together and working as one community, as we did during SARS, we will give a good account of Hong Kong’s courageous and can-do spirit. In solidarity, we shall prevail," said KP Chan, CEO of Well Link Insurance Group.

The donation is being drawn from the company's HK$5 million fund set up to help combat the spread of COVID-19 in Hong Kong. At the same time, it has donated HK$5 million to Hubei Province, including the provincial capital Wuhan, where the virus first appeared.

A cheque presentation ceremony will be conducted next week.
