Weber Shandwick retains MasterCard

Following a global review, MasterCard has chosen Weber Shandwick as its PR agency in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. The decision was made following a competitive review of Weber Shandwick's Asia-Pacific operations.It is understood that the account is one of Weber Shandwick's largest in the region. MasterCard has had a relationship with the agency for more than 15 years with internal reviews constantly being conducted.Georgette Tan, MasterCard Asia-Pacific VP of communications told Marketing that the review has not happened "in a while" and helped in showcasing the agencies' new thinking and capabilities.She added that the agency will be supporting MasterCard across "multiple levels" and the team demonstrated a depth of knowledge of the region and "innovative thinking, commitment and passion."Earlier in the year, the MasterCard's US office assigned PR duties to Ketchum.Recently MasterCard rolled out another campaign as a part of its global "Priceless Cities" programme, choosing Singapore as the launch market for the Southeast Asia campaign.
