Weber Shandwick has announced the appointment of Stuart Kelly (pictured) to lead the firm’s operations in Bangkok, effective immediately.
As managing director, Kelly reports to Baxter Jolly, Weber Shandwick’s vice chairman, Asia Pacific, and is responsible for driving business growth and key client relationships for the agency in Thailand. Prior to this, Kelly held roles both in-house and within agencies, advising a wide range of multinational and Australian companies. Previously, he served as a senior financial journalist with Bloomberg News in Asia, and began his career in South Africa, covering the country’s transition from apartheid to a full democracy.
“Stuart’s experience working across markets and delivering senior strategic counsel to major multinational brands puts him in an excellent position to lead our team in Thailand. We welcome him to Weber Shandwick and look forward to seeing our Bangkok operations grow even stronger under his leadership,” said Jolly.
The appointment comes at a critical juncture for the agency, as Weber Shandwick assumed operational control of its Bangkok office as of January 1, 2014. The team had previously operated under sister agency McCann Worldgroup in Thailand.
