Webe officially launched in Malaysia with a single mobile plan

Webe has officially launched in Malaysia.  webe, which was formerly known as Packet One Networks, has been officially launched on 30 September with a single plan. It offers subscribers unlimited data, calls and messages for as low as RM79 monthly.

With hashtags #webeMobile and #neverendingdata, the announcement on its official Facebook page has over 260,000 views and more than 440 shares.

Webe is also Telekom Malaysia Berhad's (TM) digital mobility services arm and centre of excellence for mobility.

In May this year, TM announced the pre-launched marketing campaign of webe called webe850, to engage consumers ahead of the official launch of its commercial plans. Consumers could download the “webe850” app from the Apple App Store or Google Play to join in the competition for RM6 million worth of prizes, including a full year of free data and the chance to be among the first on Webe’s new mobility network.

Lai Shu Wei, chief marketing officer of Webe said that the most recent studies show a change in consumer habits and Malaysians being the most voracious consumers of mobile data.
