Sexual wellness brand We-Vibe is breaking the taboo surrounding sexual wellness during pregnancy this Mother's Day with a new literacy campaign done in tandem with Hong Kong-based influencer Ziggy Makant, a key voice in the space of women's health, particularly for pre-and post-natal women.
As a mother herself, Makant has been vocal online about how her three pregnancies have fueled her passion for promoting body positivity and self-care. As a personal trainer, group fitness, and yoga instructor, she also has the expertise to understand what women need to feel healthy and strong, particularly during and after pregnancy, according to We-Vibe. Makant has also been particularly vocal about her experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, giving her the unique ability to empathise with those who may be struggling with similar mental health challenges.
Makant's experience puts her in a key position to represent the brand in this campaign which extends to Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong as it attempts to encourage new mum's to be more vocal about their sexual wellness and to take charge of their pleasure without shame.

"We need to break the taboo surrounding sexual wellness during pregnancy and encourage more open and honest conversations," said Makant . "By prioritizing sexual wellness during the prenatal period, expectant parents can navigate this journey with confidence and joy."
She added that that pregnancy is a unique experience, and no two pregnancies are exactly alike. Hormonal changes can lead to physical and emotional changes, and it is essential to understand how these changes can affect sexuality. This is particularly important because pregnant woman may experience periods of heightened arousal due to hormonal changes, and others may have little-to-no sex drive during this time.
"Pregnancy, although a beautiful time, can be quite an embarrassing time," said Makant . "It is important to prioritize pelvic health and seek the appropriate support if necessary."
To support women through this time, Makant suggests a list of tips and tricks to overcome changes in the body and changing desires. These include sensual massages, non-penetrative sex, sex toys such as those provided by We-Vibe and more.
In particular, the We-Vibe highlights the use of its sex toys which are well-suited for pregnancy. Sex toys, it says, can be a great way for pregnant women to connect with their bodies and explore sexual pleasure in a safe and comfortable way. Additionally, incorporating sex toys into partnered sex can help couples maintain intimacy and explore new forms of pleasure.
Sexual health and wellness companies have been amping up sexual literacy campaigns in recent months with condom brand Durex recently collaborating with its creative agency BLKJ Havas to launch the Durex ForePlay campaign.
The campaign comprises a series of gaming tutorials to educate audiences in the Asia Pacific region on finger stimulation. The campaign was launched as part of the #ComeTogether platform by Durex, which is a broader movement that aims to close the pleasure gap in the region.
Leveraging upon the importance of skilful finger movements in the gaming world, the campaign aims to convey that finger movements are just as key for bedroom performance. The online gaming tutorials connect to and are inspired by the detailed finger movements of iconic online games. These gaming tutorials are piggybacking on the mainstream interest and engagement with well-loved games, functioning as exercises for both gamers and non-gamers to become adept at foreplay and finger stimulation.
According to Durex’s research, approximately 76% of respondents would like their partners to be better at foreplay, including fingering, and BLKJ Havas aimed to address this by increasing knowledge surrounding foreplay through this campaign
