Wavemaker Australia has won the Insignia Financial media account following a review, taking responsibility for media strategy, planning and activation across the financial services group's portfolio.

The Insignia Financial Group is made up of a number of brands providing financial advice, superannuation and investments, including MLC, Expand, Plum, Bridges and Shadforth.

Wavemaker will work across the portfolio using WPP Media's data, analytics and technology capabilities, including WPP Open, with a remit spanning integrated planning, measurement and investment.

The agency's first assignment is MLC Superannuation's latest campaign, The Heist, developed by creative agency Princess.

Insignia Financial chief customer officer Renee Howie said the appointment comes as the business looks to drive growth across MLC, Shadforth and Bridges.

“Wavemaker stood out for the strength of its strategic thinking and its ability to bring data, technology and creativity together in a way that drives action,” Howie said.

“Together, we'll build a connected approach to media that helps us move with greater confidence, respond faster to changing customer needs and maximise the impact of every dollar we invest.”

Wavemaker AUNZ CEO Peter Vogel said the agency would combine its category experience with WPP Media's technology and intelligence capabilities.

“Insignia Financial has bold and ambitious plans to grow its brands and reshape how Australians engage with their financial futures,” Vogel said.

“Our team will bring the strategic courage and category expertise to create momentum, backed by WPP Media's scale, predictive intelligence and connected technology platform.”

The appointment takes effect immediately.
