Wavemaker Singapore has promoted Zachary Lim to deputy managing director, a newly created local role for the Singapore market. Following the appointment, Lim will be tasked with leading agency operations and client portfolios, reporting to Puneet Arora, GroupM Singapore CEO.
Prior to the move, Lim was general manager at Wavemaker Singapore. He was also the GM for Maxus Singapore prior to the MEC-Maxus merger. He first joined Maxus Singapore in 2014 as director, and also held stints at Havas Media, All Property Media, Focus Media and Mediacorp, according to his LinkedIn.
His appointment follows the exit of Wavemaker Singapore MD Desh Balakrishnan in March. GroupM unveiled the new branding for the merged MEC and Maxus entity to be “Wavemaker” in September and finalised key appointments in local markets by January 2018. Wavemaker has offices in 90 countries and over 8,500 employees.
Major global clients include L’Oréal, Vodafone, Marriott, Colgate-Palmolive and Paramount. The new brand mark reflects the agency’s heritage, born from WPP and GroupM, the statement added.
