Wavemaker HK bolsters leadership and strengthens offering in GBA with new senior appointments

Wavemaker Hong Kong has bolstered its leadership team with three new appointments, including Milton Liao (pictured left) taking on an additional role as head of Wavemaker Hong Hong, Scotty Ho (pictured centre) and Kenix Lai (pictured right) being promoted to managing partners.

Currently VP of Wavemaker Guangzhou, Liao will take on an expanded role as head of Wavemaker Hong Kong to oversee the office’s business. He will directly report to Jose Campon, Wavemaker China CEO, as well as Alice Chow, CEO of GroupM Hong Kong.Liao joined GroupM’s Maxus, which merged with MEC to become Wavemaker in 2015. He started his career at Leo Burnett and has also worked for companies such as Heinz Infant Nutrition and Amway.

Meanwhile, the two new managing partners, Ho and Lai, who were formerly head or strategy and group business director of Wavemaker Hong Kong respectively, will directly report to Liao. Ho and Lai will jointly lead the culture and integration of the agency with specific responsibilities around strategy, growth and new business development with focus on international clients, and investment and operations on local clients, respectively.

In additional to continue to partner with the Hong Kong based clients, Wavemaker has set a clear growth strategy helping brands in Chinese mainland and China’s Greater Bay Area for their overseas marketing communication. This management structure aims to leverage the agency’s talents in both Hong Kong and mainland China.
