One of Hongkongers' favourite Japanese manga series, Doraemon, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Watsons has transformed one of its stores in Hong Kong with Doraemon installations offering a selection of collectibles.
The themed store is located at Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong. A 1:1 scale Doraemon figure has been positioned at the entrance of the store to welcome customers. Other decorations include the "anywhere door" sticker, as well as photogenic installations across the store.
The decorations will run until 30 November. To go with this campaign, Watsons is exclusively offering a new set of collectibles after launching the first batch in September. According to Watsons, online searches for Doraemon and related keywords have been increasing since August this year, inspiring the brand to launch the second wave of Doraemon collectibles in their stores to attract customers, particularly Gen Z and Gen Y shoppers.
