Volkswagen Malaysia has once again leveraged on the spooky urban legend of the Yellow Beetle on the Karak Highway to promote its new Volkswagen Arteon R-Line launched in August. Just in time for Halloween, its latest animation video features a beautiful but deadly Pontianak and is a continuation of its 2019 Halloween animation film, which also revolved around the urban legend.

The animation features a yellow Arteron appearing out of nowhere and overtakes the male protagonist. Behind the wheel is a fair and beautiful maiden and he is smitten by her looks. The female waves at him as he pulls up ahead and he turns red. When he looks up in his rear view mirror to try and catch a glimpse of her again, she suddenly appears in his backseat and is ready to pounce.

This year, the brand spiced up the experience by allowing netizens to choose their preferred ending on Instagram - fight or flight. The poll ran on 27 and 28 October and 61% of the 800 who voted chose to fight the Pontianak. Meanwhile, last year's film had close to 48,000 YouTube views. A+M has reached out to Volksagen for additional information.

Meanwhile pizza brands in Singapore also got creative for Halloween. Deliveroo tied up with British Italian pizzeria PizzaExpress to create a Halloween-themed pizza, which comes decorated with slices of pepperoni, black olives, and cherry tomatoes made to resemble a creepy critter. This pizza also comes in a purple Ouija-styled Deliveroo pizza box, complete with letters, numbers and action words, as well as a pizza slice as a planchette. Separately, Peperoni Pizzeria also launched a Halloween-themed pizza named "Peperoni Pizzeria Haunted Pizza",. The pizza comes with three different sizes, and is made with butternut purée base, topped with mozzarella, butternut pumpkin, pepperoni, black olives, and honey ham.
