Volkswagen Malaysia features 'Seven Kingdoms' in GoT-inspired web experience

Leading up to the premiere of Game of Thrones (GoT) Season 8, several brands globally have been riding on the hype. Launching GoT-inspired microsite and wallpapers, Volkswagen Malaysia is now joining a long list of brands that have done so, such as Starhub, Oreo, Mountain Dew, Johnny Walker, Urban Decay, adidas, and Klook. Volkswagen Malaysia developed its very own version of the Seven Kingdoms with nicknames for its car model line up, namely Night Beetle, GTI-Rell, Pas-Stark, Khal-Polo, R-Linenister, Tiguaryen, and Venjoy. On "the seven experience" microsite, each car is accompanied by a write-up summarising its "right to rule" and "noble traits" as well as what it says about the "master of the ride." Additionally, the company's digital agency Industria KL designed a set of images, matching every car with a symbol from the show. The images were featured on its VWCares mobile app, website as well as sent via newsletters to prospects, new owners and existing owners. Users are encouraged to "stake their claim" on the images and download them for use as wallpapers on mobile or desktop. According to Volkswagen Malaysia, the creatives have garnered good response from its car club members, who are excited GoT-infused images featuring their own Volkswagen cars.
