Viu Singapore has been crowned overall Event Marketer of the Year at the 11th edition of the annual Marketing Events Awards. With some inspiring and innovative work, Viu Singapore received strong recognition for its campaign "Again My Life (Back in Time)", winning six Golds, three Silvers and one Bronze, ultimately securing its way at the top.
The campaign kicked off with an exclusive watch party at Zouk on the show's premiere. In addition to watching the first episode of Again My Life together, fans of the show were also able to indulge in photo opportunities, trivia, and goodie bag giveaways. According to Viu, registration was carried out on a first come first served basis and the event was fully subscribed in a week, with over 200 registered guests. Meanwhile, Viu will launch a "Lee Joon-gi birthday ice cream giveaway" for fans to celebrate the actor's birthday with free mint chocolate chip ice cream.
As part of the event initiative, fans were given the opportunity to "travel back in time", just like Lee does in the show, with Viu's "Time Bolt" activation. The activation will launch on 18 April at Waterway Point, and will allow users to see their younger selves again at the click of a button.
Coming in a close second was both Advanced Micro Devices and Oceanus Media Global. Advanced Micro Devices impressed the judges with its campaign “AMD Gaming 2021 - Where Gaming Begins”, while the latter received high remarks for its campaign “Oceanus Media Global Studio Launch”, both claiming a total of four Gold and two Silver trophies respectively.
Other notable winners included, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Singtel, Twitch, Central Singapore CDC, Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision, National Olympic Committee of Thailand (NOCT), Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, The Front Row and Warner Bros. Discovery.
As well as recognising the success of marketing brands, the Marketing Events Awards also celebrates the outstanding work of the agencies that clients have partnered with. This year saw Bread Butter Bacon take home the coveted “Overall Event Agency of the Year 2022” title having earned six Gold, three Silver and one Bronze trophy.
The runner up was Resolute Communications, taking home four Gold and three Silver trophies for its work. The agency was well received in categories such as, Best Event Ambience, Best Event Branding, Best Event by an In-house Team and more, evening coming in second for Team of the Year (Agency). Other stand out agencies on the night included Eliphant, Square Roots, Hogarth Worldwide, AP Media, Unearthed Productions, MCI Group Asia Pacific and dentsu X (Thailand).
