Villa rental company Villa Finder has appointed Joanna Su Yin Cockle (pictured) as its new head of marketing, according to a LinkedIn post by Cockle. She will report to Daniel Rouquette, the CEO and co-founder of the company.
Cockle brings with her a wealth of experience, having served in the industry since 2012 when she joined Xpand Group as a consultant and later as a marketing and communications manager where she was responsible for the strategy and execution of Xpand's digital marketing, social media, content and marketing.
Cockle then started The Bloom Group in 2017, a company aimed at helping businesses plan and execute tailor-made online marketing strategies for their brand to ensure they are maximising their digital potential, and returned to Xpand Group as its APAC marketing manager where she handled the marketing efforts for Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Cockle later joined 33 Talent as head of marketing in 2019, a role she held until June this year.
As an avid entrepreneur, Cockle also founded Sayang From Su Yin in 2020 which produces Singapore souvenirs using artwork created by her. Now, three years later and Cockle is shifting her focus to Villa Finder which works in the villa rental space across Asia.
"After a decade in recruitment marketing, I was looking to step into a different industry," said Cockle when MARKETING-INTERACTIVE reached out. "I was drawn to Villa Finder for more than just the obvious reasons. Besides providing beautiful villas in holiday destinations though offices in Singapore and Bali, I also met with an engaging, innovative and truly passionate team with a shared mission. The opportunity to join the team, lead the marketing function and help people find a memorable holiday experience was one I could not pass on," she said.
Cockle joins a slew of notable marketing appointments in the region. Recently, Singapore-based real estate enterprise OrangeTee appointed Jon Tan as its new senior vice president, head of brand, digital marketing and communications.
Tan joins the team after spending just under a year as marketing team lead at Far East Organisation where he led the marketing communications strategy for three business units in the business space, residential leasing and overseas marketing in Hong Kong and China.
