American lingerie, clothing and beauty brand Victoria’s Secret has unveiled its first all-female produced Malaysian campaign starring local models Mia Atasha and Jane Teoh, according to the brand in a statement on Instagram.

Victoria’s Secret Malaysia posted a campaign video with the caption “Introducing the T-Shirt Bra collection: our first ever all female produced local campaign in collaboration with [Women Photographers Malaysia] celebrat[ing] women who fearlessly embrace their individuality in every aspect of their daily lives, empowering them to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin”, ending it with a hashtag “#BeAuthenticBeYou” as well as tagging local models Mia Atasha and Jane Teoh as its talents for the campaign.

Model Mia Atasha expressed her excitement on the collaboration with the lingerie brand in a post that said: “I guess it’s a secret no more. [I] got to face a global campaign for [Victoria’s Secret] [Victoria’s Secret Malaysia]. Catch me in [the] store wherever you are at your nearest VS store.”

“All love to the local MY and US team for being the most beautiful people to work with and for taking a chance on me and giving me this opportunity. I’m honestly still processing everything and currently in pinch-me mode. Teenage Nia wouldn’t believe this,” Atasha added.

The campaign aims to drive the message forward that women are an empowering force when working in collaboration to deliver results. “It’s a fascinating approach that celebrates the power of female creativity,” said Jasmine Wong, film director for Women Photographers Malaysia.

The T-Shirt bra collection features comfortable lingerie with the brand label embedded on the lingerie straps and is available in an array of colours.

The news comes just as Victoria's Secret announced that it will be bringing back its much talked about runway show after a hiatus of approximately four years. The show, which in its peak saw supermodels and celebrities walking the runway with outrageous wings and rhinestone cladded bras, is also said to be getting a revamp.

In a statement to Washington Post, the company said that it is innovating its business and as such will be bringing back one of its “best marketing and entertainment properties to date” – of course, in a manner which reflects the brand of today. What that entails however, was not elaborated upon.
