Apparel retailer UNIQLO Malaysia is tapping into the power of nostalgia and fandom with its first-ever UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) collaboration with the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and its newly launched Pokémon TCG Pocket app.
Launching in Malaysia on 11 August 2025, the capsule collection features designs inspired by the globally popular card game, combining fan-favourite characters such as Pikachu, Slowpoke, and Omanyte with UT’s signature graphic style.

The range includes five adult T-shirt designs (priced at RM59.90) and five kids’ designs (RM39.90), and will be available both online and in UNIQLO stores nationwide.
The collaboration also ties in with the recent launch of the Pokémon TCG Pocket app, which reimagines the physical card collection experience in digital form. This marks a new step in UNIQLO’s ongoing partnerships with entertainment IPs, following previous Pokémon-themed UT collections that celebrated the broader franchise.
To mark the occasion, a special edition of UT magazine will be distributed in-store. It includes an exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game paper playmat featuring Pikachu, along with behind-the-scenes interviews with two official Pokémon TCG illustrators involved in the UT collection.
The magazine and playmat will be available while stocks last. A dedicated campaign site is also now live on UNIQLO Malaysia’s website, showcasing the full collection and designs.
The campaign was teased on UNIQLO Malaysia's social platforms, with an outline of fan-favourite Pokémon character Pikachu, followed by first-looks into the various UT designs up for grabs.
Earlier in June, UNIQLO put the spotlight on the humble T-shirt, with a campaign celebrating the timeless staple through the eyes of two familiar faces, local singer-actress Daiyan Trisha and content creator Phei Yong.
As a part of the campaign, notable Malaysian influencers such as Michie Lam (@michieeelam), who has 441K followers, as well as actress Mimi Lana (@missmimilana), who has 1.2M followers, were seen sharing outfit inspirations utilising UNIQLO's T-shirts on social media, and inviting their followers to share their own outfit combinations with the hashtag #CelebratingTShirtDay.
