
Uber poaches Target CMO to lead global marketing operations

Uber is shaking up its leadership by bringing in Target's chief marketing officer, Jeff Jones, as president of its ridesharing operations.Jones will be responsible for the company's ride-hailing operations, marketing and customer support, according to a blog post from Uber CEO Travis Kalanick."As we grow, marketing is becoming more and more of a thing, and it was clear we needed a real infusion of talent on that front," Kalanick said.Jones replaces Uber co-founder Ryan Graves, who will move to lead new business ventures like UberEats and UberRush.Jones joined Target as head of marketing in 2012 and had been part of the chain’s campaign to reinvent itself, particularly focusing on digital operations.
