Uber appoints new communications head in Hong Kong

Uber has appointed Katie Lee as head of communications of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. According to Lee's LinkedIn, she joined the car-hailing company in October.

According to Uber's job description, the role of head of communications is responsible to "establish Uber’s brand and profile with the media and third parties in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau"; and "to tell out story - and the story of ridesharing - in creative, inspiring ways that resonate with journalists and on social media."

Prior to the role, Lee was with Chinese e-commerce site JD.com. During her tenure of director of international communications, she managed and supported international communications programmes for the company.

Lee has over 15 years of experience in public relations, corporate and marketing communications with a mixed background from agencies and in-house positions.
