U Mobile dramatises Malaysians' unbeatable spirit to start the year right

U Mobile has launched a new film as part of its campaign to inspire all Malaysians to channel their unbeatable spirits. The creative agency behind the campaign is TBWA\ Malaysia. Teaming up with five inspiring Malaysians, the film, titled "The unbeatables", pays homage to Malaysian achievers who were able to overcome huge obstacles because they truly believed in their potential and had an unbeatable mindset.

The five Malaysians include as Datuk Abdul Latif Romly, a Paralympic long jump gold medallist; Red Hong Yi, renowned contemporary artist; Theena Thayalan, SUKMA boxing gold medallist; Azua Shafii, the national record holder for free diving; and Siti Rahmah, World Pencak Silat Championship and SEA Games Gold medallist.

Chief marketing officer of U Mobile, Navin Manian, said that U mobile is always seeking new ways to help Malaysians become unbeatable whether it is through its various customer engagements or through its products and services.

“As the year has just started, we thought it’s an opportune time to shine the spotlight on their personal stories of resiliency so that other Malaysians will be inspired to adopt the Unbeatable spirit too,” he added.

Kenny Pang, associate creative director at TBWA\ KL, said that the five Malaysians were selected for their passion and desire who are a reflection of what U Mobile’s spirit. The agency, the production house, the client – we all came together to create this wonderful series of films. It was one of the best collaborative efforts I have been on,” Kenny added.  

In February last year, U Mobile launched its refreshed website, u.com.my, to provide its consumers with greater ease of use and a more holistic user experience. The new and enhanced platform also enables the telco to have greater autonomy and agility in managing content, and offers access to deeper and more comprehensive user analytics. The team worked with GrowthOps on the website for eight months and the website is powered by Adobe Experience Cloud and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
