Tune Protect's group CEO Khoo Ai Lin steps down

Tune Protect's group CEO Khoo Ai Lin has resigned from her role to pursue new opportunities. Khoo (pictured) first took on the role in January last year. Prior to that, she was the CMO at Prudential Assurance for close to two years, first joining as chief officer - partnership, distribution and general insurance in 2010.

In her first role at Prudential, she was responsible for retaining quality business, develop new strategic alliance and growing new business, according to her LinkedIn. Before Prudential, Khoo was Hong Leong Bankg's GM - bancassurance, affinity business and alternative channels for close to four years. Meanwhile, Khoo spent about six years with AIG Malaysia, first helming the role of head of bancassurance in 2000 before climbing the ranks and eventually taking on the role of VP, affinity business, her LinkedIn said.

Separately, the company named How Kim Lian CFO in May this year, succeeding Chen Ooi Wai who left to pursue other options. In 2019, Tune Protect Group amassed an operating revenue of RM500.8 million, a dip from RM566.1 million in 2018. Its profit after tax for 2019 was RM58.1 million. The group acquired new digital and affinity partners in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam last year and issued more than 10 million digital policies in 2019. For this year, the group said in its annual report that it plans to go ASEAN and beyond, build an AirAsia ecosystem, have insurtech capabilities, and build a national business.
