TikTok has appointed Jeremy Ng (pictured) as its Malaysia communications lead, expanding his remit across corporate narrative, stakeholder engagement and reputation management for both TikTok and ByteDance brands in the local market.

Based on his LinkedIn, beginning May 2026, Ng now oversees communications strategy for TikTok and ByteDance in Malaysia, including enterprise collaboration platform Lark and cloud technology business BytePlus. His role spans integrated communications, high-impact stakeholder management and issues counsel across the intersection of technology, culture, business and policy.

The appointment follows nearly two years as senior communications manager under TikTok’s Southeast Asia global communications team, where Ng led several of the platform’s digital literacy and eCommerce-focused initiatives.

Among the most prominent was TikTok’s #ThinkTwice campaign, a nationwide digital literacy initiative aimed at promoting safer online behaviour and combating cyberbullying. According to Ng, the initiative began as a strategic vision he proposed after joining TikTok in 2024.

“When I first joined TikTok in 2024, #ThinkTwice was a strategic vision I proposed to champion digital literacy in Malaysia,” he said in a LinkedIn post.

Two years later, the initiative has expanded beyond Malaysia into regional markets including the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.

Ng added that the campaign was built around “genuine purpose and consistent action”, evolving beyond awareness-building into practical community engagement through #ThinkTwice Training workshops launched this year.

“Often, the most profound impact of an initiative happens away from the headlines,” he said, noting that the campaign accumulated nearly 400 million views on educational content and over 1.4 million visits to its multilingual knowledge hub.

He also highlighted the behind-the-scenes work involved, including travelling across states to engage parents, teens and teachers directly, alongside creating educational resources in English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin and Tamil.

Beyond #ThinkTwice, Ng also played a key role in launching TikTok’s inaugural Malaysia socioeconomic impact report and driving positive storytelling around TikTok Shop’s business and societal impact.

Prior to TikTok, Ng held communications roles at Boost, Lazada Malaysia and communications agency Archetype.

Earlier this year, OSK Group appointed Amelia Lim as its new head of group corporate communications, bringing more than two decades of experience in corporate storytelling and reputation management to the conglomerate's management team. She officially stepped into the role on 2 January 2026.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Lim's role is centred on strengthening the strategic alignment of the OSK brand across its businesses. At the group level, she will oversee both internal communications and external public relations, with a focus on ensuring the OSK Group's corporate milestones, values and long-term vision are communicated clearly and consistently to stakeholders and the media.

More recently, Samaiden Group, a local engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) solutions provider for renewable energy projects, has named Sharon Loh as its new director of brand and corporate growth.

As part of her remit, she will oversee strategic branding, corporate growth, as well as the group’s sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) communications under the brand and corporate growth office.
