Tiger Sugar aims to provide Malaysians with 'good taste of Taiwan' with KL launch

Taiwanese milk tea Tiger Sugar is expanding into Malaysia, with its first outlet scheduled to open in Kuala Lumpur this November.

The company announced its foray into Malaysia via a Facebook post, which has garnered over 3.9k reactions, 1.6k comments and 1.7k shares at the time of writing. Netizen reactions are mainly positive, with many tagging their friends and excitedly waiting for Tiger Sugar's arrival into the country.

In a statement to A+M, the spokesperson said its vision is to be the world's leading beverage brand and wants Malaysians to enjoy the good taste of Taiwan. "We are a small group of young entrepreneurs looking to start-up our career in this competitive industry. We are aggressive yet mindful and creative, always remembering our reasons for starting in the beginning," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said that a head of marketing will be appointed to bring the brand and product "to a bigger stage", but declined to reveal the individual's identity. Its marketing team will comprise approximately four members, each of them handling aspects such as advertising, content creation and image editing.

Likewise, the spokesperson declined to reveal its marketing strategies, adding that it will "do what is required to create enough brand awareness" in the country. While it does not plan to work with any agencies at the moment, since it has an in-house creative team, Tiger Sugar is open to the possibility of doing so when it expands.

Meanwhile, the company added that it does not see other beverage brands as its competitors as everyone is in the industry together. "Our only motto is to strive to be better than ourselves everyday," the spokesperson said.
