The Pod Network debuts literary anthology podcast with 'Trese' creator Budjette Tan

The Pod Network has unveiled Stories @ The Pod, a limited audio anthology series that reimagines contemporary Filipino literature as fully immersive podcast experiences.

The project is co-produced with Hit Productions, an award-winning audio production company, and opens with four tales from Kwentoys, the forthcoming collection by Budjette Tan, the writer behind Netflix’s Trese.

“I’m excited that Hit Productions’ collaboration with our partners at The Pod Network and author Budjette Tan has made it possible for his stories to reach new and wider audiences,” said Vic Icasas, CEO of Hit Productions.

Stories @ The Pod episodes combine audio drama adaptations by Steve and Nyx of the Book of Bad Ideas podcast with heartfelt conversations between Tan and Earl of Philippine Campfire Stories, offering listeners deeper insight into the inspirations, culture, and emotions behind each narrative.

“These stories deserve to be heard - literally. They’re not just retold; they’re reimagined,” said Tan.

Kwentoys features stories written by Tan over two decades, weaving together folklore, memory, and everyday magic, accompanied by illustrations from his brother Brandie Tan. The anthology brings to life eerie, nostalgic, and personal tales, with themes ranging from lost children and ancient myths to childhood recollections.

“We at The Pod Network are thrilled to share this collaboration with such creative minds and talents in the literature, sound, and podcast spheres,” said Inna Salazar Acuña, head of content at The Pod Network.

The Pod Network describes its mission as “connecting voices, enriching conversations,” and currently hosts 34 shows, including Tambalan Podcast with Nicole Hyala and Chris Tsuper, The Bare It All Podcast by Dani Barretto, and The KoolPals.
