Texas Chicken has launched a comedy video featuring two local aunties arguing over who makes a better sambal (chilli).
The comedy video featuring “makcik Halijah” and “aunty Bee Li” fight through a rap battle over their sambal recipes. The aunties face-off, hurling threats and gesturing “fiercely” to show confidence in their own recipe. Both aunties also had their own themes and personalities.
At the end of the video, an Indian aunty breaks the other two apart from fighting and sings about Texas chicken’s new sambal chicken menu in tandem with NDP. As you can expect, the spot was created in a bid to introduce its new National Day Promo (NDP) menu.
Early this month, McDonald’s launched a new campaign for its recent D24 Durian McFlurry in line with the upcoming National Day celebrations. The new product is the first item in the brand’s lineup of locally-inspired offerings this year and launches on 5 July 2018.
Meanwhile, KFC Singapore has rolled out a promotional menu. Mediacorp and Nestle have also partnered with KFC to “heighten excitement and the spirit of celebration” by adding a contest with daily prizes in the form of cash and even a car sponsored by Audi.
