Telekom Malaysia has partnered with UM to create an online social game as it looks to connect with consumers during the festive season.
Taking a virtual spin on the age old tradition of people having open houses during their festive season the game allows users to do the same thing online. The virtual open house allows people to design their own homes and choose which dishes to serve their virtual guests.
The campaign launched on Facebook has drawn people to host their own open house, eating and socialising recreating the spirit of Raya online.
Prashant Kumar (pictured), CEO of UM said contrary to popular belief of social media destroying traditions, it has the power to strengthen cultures and communities by making bonding and connections location-free.
“Social gaming on Facebook is the next big play and it provided the perfect platform for engaging the ‘social generation’ with the essence of festivity. We are excited about the viral momentum the campaign has unleashed and the equity it’s building for brand TM,” Kumar, added.
