Hong Kong-based Yunnan-style rice noodles restaurant TamJai SamGor will open the first of its foreign branches in Singapore, while its sister brand, Tam Chai Yunnan Mixian, is set to open a mega branch in Central in Q4.
According to various reports in Hong Kong, TamJai SamGor will open three stores in Singapore in Q4 this year. The first store, spanning 1,270 square feet, will start operating in October at Bedok Mall. The other two branches will open at Chinatown and Vivo City in November, spanning 2,282 and 1,711 square feet respectively.
It's reported that TamJai SamGor's signature soup bases will be available in Singapore, while the brand will also add side dishes and appetisers to suit the Singaporean palate.
TamJai SamGor's overseas expansion plan was announced early last year. Acquired by Japanese operator of noodle shops Toridoll in 2017, both TamJai SamGor and Tam Chai Yunnan Mixian said they would expand its business in Hong Kong or overseas markets after consolidating its internal process.
Apart from TamJai SamGor's expansion in Singapore, Tam Chai Yunnan Mixian is also planning to open a two-storey mega branch at The Chinese Club Building in Central. Offering more than 200 seats and spanning 8,514 square feet, the new addition aims to meet the needs of people working in Central, offering them an alternative dining choice in the heart of Hong Kong.
