
Supermom picks former agency lead as Indonesia country director, raises US$6m

Supermom, a technology platform that serves as a go-to digital platform for mothers to help them with shopping, and getting the best product recommendations for their families has hired former agency professional Anwesh Bose as its new country director.
Bose was previously the CEO of Havas Media in Indonesia, and has worked with the likes of Dentsu and DDB. He was also last president director for the academy consulting. His addition to the team comes as Supermoms looks become the largest parenting network in Indonesia, and announced its partnership with AC Ventures, a tech-focused investment firm that firm supports early-stage, high-growth businesses.
Most recently the company raised S$8 million (around US$6 million) in a series A funding round led by Qualgro, with participation from AC Ventures. "Our founding purpose was to help new mothers and time-strapped parents with useful information to better care for their children and to feel less alone. That's why we will continue to actively involve Indonesian mothers and support their roles as drivers of digital economic growth in Indonesia through the various features and programs we are continuing to develop,” said Joan Ong, the founder of Supermom.
Helen Wong, the managing partner of AC Ventures, said, "We are glad to support Supermom's business expansion in Indonesia. With a population of 134.71 million women, Indonesia is a promising market for Supermom to empower and educate mothers and mothers-to-be. We believe that Supermom can be a market leader in Indonesia."
