StarHub tipped to move social media duties in-house

StarHub is tipped to be moving its social media duties in house. The telco was last working with GroupM social media agency Vocanic.The move comes months after the telco hired social media expert Rod Strother from Lenovo as StarHub's VP of digital transformation. The role is a newly-created one within StarHub and covers all areas of digital including social, e-commerce, dot com and others.Sources close to Marketing also said the telco is also currently in the midst of growing its in-house social media function.A StarHub spokesperson told Marketing: "We are constantly exploring different ways to engage customers in a meaningful manner. Hence, we regularly review how we reach out to customers, and one of which includes our partnership with our agencies."The telco was last working with Vocanic for more than five years. The agency has recently seen a major change in leadership with CEO Ian McKee stepping down.
