StarHub has launched a new spot to promote its new StarHub Go Streaming Box with Google Assistant. Conceptualised and produced by BLKJ, the spot features a couple wrestling for dominance over the remote control.
They begin carrying out voice impersonations of characters from popular movies and TV shows such as Game of Thrones, The Dark Knight and Avengers: Infinity War, instructing Google Assistant to play their favourite programmes on StarHub’s new streaming box.
The spot runs on Facebook and YouTube. In a statement to Marketing, Donovan Kik, Vice President, segment and marketing at StarHub said the latest spot blends the two most important elements of its new StarHub Go Streaming Box – availability of great content and ease of use.
“Using voice impersonations of iconic movie characters, our ad brings out the fun moments our customers have while catching their favourite programmes. Searching for content is a breeze with the Google Assistant, a single voice command will easily lead our viewers to their chosen titles. The array of characters also showcases the wide catalogue of content available on our box,” Kik added.
Rowena Bhagchandani, CEO and co-founder of BLKJ told Marketing that the agency is trying to pioneer new ways of working within the constraints of the market to deliver a fresh tone of voice.
“There was no chance of putting Chris Hemsworth in this spot, but who says we can’t have someone who sounds exactly like Thor? And that’s really the way we try to work at BLKJ – don’t let a good problem go to waste,” she said. Bhagchandani added that more versions of the spot will be launched.
