Starbucks has joined forces with Mandopop icon Jay Chou to launch the "Jay Series," an exclusive merchandise collection that fuses the nostalgia of his legendary discography with the daily ritual of coffee.

In conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, a spokesperson from Starbucks said the brand is in the business of human connection, and it constantly explores culturally relevant ways to elevate the Starbucks experience, creating meaningful everyday moments over coffee.

"Chou’s music has become part of people’s life across Asia, soundtracking both shared experiences and quiet personal moments, making him a natural partner for this collaboration rooted in nostalgia, comfort and connection."

The new collection is available in selected markets across Asia. Following its debut in Chinese Mainland, the collection has gradually been introduced to additional markets across the region, including Hong Kong and Macau, where it launched on 17 September 2026.

The collection speaks to those who have grown up with Jay Chou’s music and invites his fans to revisit familiar stories, rediscover inspiration and savour the moments that stay with consumers, added the spokesperson.

Spanning over two decades, Chou’s career as the "King of Mandopop" has provided the soundtrack for a generation. The new collection translates his artistic identity into functional everyday lifestyle pieces, featuring signature black-and-pink colorways, lyric engravings, and iconic performance motifs.

Among the standout items is a Greater China exclusive diamond-textured cold cup, packaged in a collectible gift box and decorated with a magician's top hat straw topper alongside a "J" charm.

The lineup also includes a stainless steel tumbler engraved with lyrics from his uplifting hit Rice Field, a sleek all-black tumbler paired with a leather-inspired earphone case charm mirroring Chou's personal aesthetic, and a notebook featuring lyrics from Starry Mood designed to capture creative inspiration.

By blending collectible drinkware with deep-rooted pop culture nostalgia, the partnership invites fans to revisit cherished musical memories while elevating their daily coffee routines.

Starbucks has long created moments of connection and shared experiences over coffee. Collaborations with celebrity bring culture into Starbucks coffeehouses in a way that feels relevant and familiar to customers, creating a space where fans can reconnect over music, coffee and shared experiences, said the spokesperson. "The collaboration is being launched in select markets where Jay Chou has a strong cultural resonance and established fan base to stay locally relevant."

In Hong Kong and Macau, the collaboration is brought to life through exclusive merchandise. The campaign is also supported across Starbucks’ owned digital and social media channels, as well as earned media and influencer engagement.

Alan Chan, general manager, Starbucks Hong Kong and Macau, said, “Chou’s music holds a special place in the hearts of many people in the city. Through this collaboration, we are bringing that sense of familiarity and connection into the Starbucks experience with a collection inspired by his artistry and creative world. We hope the collection offers customers a meaningful way to reconnect with familiar melodies, celebrate treasured memories, and create new moments of connection over coffee."

Most recently, Starbucks and Peanuts joined forces to launch a limited-edition collection inspired by the timeless seasonal classic It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Beginning 15 September, Starbucks coffeehouses across the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide will debut the exclusive merchandise lineup, merging the warmth, nostalgia, and cherished autumn traditions of both global brands.
