Society Malaysia, a division of IPG Mediabrands, hosted Raya this year in support of children at the "Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Kasih" by hosting an Open House to #RayaBersama at its premises for this year’s Raya celebrations.Society Malaysia’s mission was to spread joy and cheer to the children of the orphanage, which houses 32 orphaned and abandoned children, aged between 5 to 13 years old. The aim was to empower and enable the children to host their very own open house.Funded through its #PuasaBersama campaign launched by Society Malaysia at the start of Ramadan, 75 staff of Society Malaysia and other staff within the IPG Mediabrands network elected to fast through out at least one meal a day throughout the holy month, and donate the costs of those meals to raise funds for the children of Baitul Kasih. The employees of Society Malaysia and its sister agencies in the IPG Mediabrands network also organised a mass “gotong-royong” (working together) with the children, to help them get the house ready to usher in Hari Raya. This saw the children being involved in cleaning, decorations, drafting invitations, music selection, food and beverage options. More than 50 guests attended the open house organised by the children of the Baitul Kasih welfare home on Monday the 26th June between 11am to 3pm.Managing director of Society, Stanley Clement said, “We wanted to empower these children to know that they can make a difference if they wanted to and for their stories to be told so that those able to help can come together for the sake of a better community.”
