We Are Social strengthens top management

Social media agency We Are Social has made several key promotions and appointments to its senior management team in Singapore.

Current Singapore managing director, Don Anderson, has been named regional managing director. Anderson will now focus on leading the agency’s regional offering and partnerships, strategic growth plans and marketing communications for the business.

Tuck Wai Yue, who joined the agency in January 2014 as business director, has been promoted to country head, Singapore. Tuck will oversee its ongoing operations and new business opportunities for the firm, while leading the agency’s growth in Singapore.

Sophina Smith, who joined the firm from BBH in early 2013 as business director, assumes the role of client solutions director. She will focus on driving business value for clients through the integration of social thinking into their marketing and communications, while driving the culture of innovation within the firm.

Shih Hoon Yong, a qualitative researcher and analyst with over nine years experience, joins We Are Social as research & insight director after honing her social media and big data analysis skills at StarHub and NM Incite (Nielsen) and, most recently, migme (formerly mig33) where she served as business intelligence director. Yong will oversee the agency’s research & insight team, and provide analysis and identification of insights for brands through social media monitoring tools and proprietary methodologies developed by the agency.

Nicole Ong, who recently celebrated her third anniversary with the agency, has been appointed senior account director as part of an expanded role, while continuing to work closely with Lenovo and 20th Century Fox.

The move comes in support of We Are Social’s continued global and regional expansion with the opening of new offices in San Francisco and Shanghai.

The appointments follow the agency’s recent renewal of its global social media agency of record relationship with Lenovo for the third consecutive year and recent major wins including being named 20th Century Fox’s social media agency of record for Asia Pacific, Intel’s key content partner and provider for its digital hub initiative, and Nestlé Singapore’s agency for managing social media engagements for its Maggi brand.
