Snoopy brings a little Peanuts magic to Singapore’s reading scene

The National Library & Archives Board (NLB) is tapping into the cross-generational appeal of Snoopy and the Peanuts gang for its latest push to get Singapore reading, launching a themed pop-up library at Plaza Singapura.
Running from 27 October 2026 to 19 September 2027, the "Snoopy pop-up" library brings together books, themed spaces and interactive experiences designed to make reading more engaging for children, families and longtime Peanuts fans.
Located on Level 3 of Plaza Singapura, the fully self-service library houses close to 10,000 physical and digital books for children, alongside a dedicated collection of Peanuts titles for readers of all ages curated by NLB librarians.

The space takes cues from familiar settings and characters from the comic strip. Visitors can read and explore in Charlie Brown’s Classroom, board the 'Peanuts school bus' or settle into the 'Snoopy garden' for a quieter reading experience.
NLB has also turned Lucy’s recognisable booth into an interactive book discovery experience. Visitors can answer a series of questions before receiving personalised book recommendations based on their mood, printed in the form of a bookmark.

The activation forms part of NLB’s wider ReadSG initiative, a five-year national movement aimed at building a nation of readers and making reading a more accessible part of everyday life.
Melissa Tam, chief executive officer of NLB, said the enduring appeal of Snoopy, Charlie Brown and their friends made Peanuts a fitting way to bring the joy of reading closer to communities.
“The adventures of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and his friends have charmed millions across generations, and at the heart of these stories is the celebration of reading,” said Tam.
“Through this 'Snoopy pop-up library', we hope to bring that same warmth and wonder closer to our communities, making it easier for people of all ages to rediscover the joy of books and reading in their everyday lives,” she added.
The Snoopy activation follows other efforts by NLB to take reading and library experiences beyond the traditional bookshelf through more interactive formats. Earlier this year, NLB launched a collectible card game titled “Chapters”, turning three decades of Singapore’s library history into a playable storytelling experience. Created to mark NLB’s 30th anniversary, the game celebrates the role libraries have played in sparking curiosity and discovery among Singaporeans.
Designed for two to four players, “Chapters” invites participants to build their own library or archive using cards inspired by milestones, spaces and experiences from NLB’s history. Players compete to attract the most “hearts” by creating engaging library collections and inviting friends to explore them.
