SmarTone names new GM of branding and integrated marketing

SmarTone has appointed Renee Sin as the new general manager of branding and integrated marketing. According to her LinkedIn, Sin is responsible for branding, integrated marketing, loyalty, customer relationship management (CRM), store concept and visual merchandising.
Prior to her new role, Sin was senior director for e-commerce at UCP International. During the time at UCP, she led the direct-to-consumer division for the globally renowned home décor and faux botanical conglomerate – UCP International, to spearhead their digital transformation and startup their eCommerce and consumer ecosystem. She was also tasked as the COO for strategic development, eCommerce operation, digital and growth marketing, product market fit and P&L owner.
On the other hand, Norman Tam, executive director and deputy chief executive officer of SmarTone resigned with effect from 1 March to pursue other interests. He joined the company in November 2021, with over 20 years of experience in product development, operation management and startup investment in the internet and technology sector to the company.
Prior to joining SmarTone, Tam was concurrently a vice president of Tencent Cloud International, vice president of JOOX Music, and the chief executive of WeChat Pay Hong Kong, where he was responsible for developing the international business of various areas including social networks, digital payment, cloud computing and more.

Meanwhile, SmarTone has appointed Fiona Lau to be executive director, chief executive officer, authorised representative and process agent, with effect from 15 February.
Lau is currently an executive director and the chief commercial officer of SUNeVision Holdings, a non-wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), the controlling shareholder of SUNeVision. Since joining the company in 2017, Lau has been in charge of its sales and business development functions. Under her leadership, SUNeVision is able to attract new customers as well as to expand together with existing customers. She builds a strong culture of understanding customer needs and addressing those needs which contributes to the very strong financial results for SUNeVision, according to the release.
Prior to joining SHKP and taking up various leadership roles at SUNeVision since 2017, Lau was a director at BlackRock Asset Management (North Asia), where she held various senior positions across the chairman’s office, corporate strategy, and retail and private banking functions during 2010 to 2017. Prior to this, she worked in McKinsey & Company and held the position of engagement manager. With effect from 15 February, Lau is re-designated from executive director to non-executive director of SUNeVision.Furthermore, Stephen Chau will cease to act as an authorised representative and process agent of the company with effect from the same date.
