Sime Darby is placing a bigger focus on social media to push its newly revamped auto division in Hong Kong, appointing Ying Interactive to manage its social marketing.
Ying Interactive, headed by former Sina Hong Kong general manager Meg Lee, will oversee a number of brands under the group including Peugeot, Citroen, Mitsubishi and, potentially, Suzuki.
The win is the first major account for Ying Interactive in Hong Kong, which is focusing its business on social media, CRM and content for China and Hong Kong markets.
The agency launched Facebook pages for Peugeot and Citroen on 1 August and Mitsubishi is slated to kick start its push from next week.
Sime Darby has operated an auto division in Hong Kong more some 40 years, but recently acquired the rights to Peugeot and Citroen.
Other brands under Sime Darby Motors include Land Rover, BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and Ford.
