Shopwave looks to grow merchant partners

Shopwave, a location-based app that rewards shoppers simply for walking into participating stores and interacting with products, is looking to add merchants in varying categories. This can be across silos such as groceries, health and beauty, food and beverage, fashion, home furnishings, sporting goods, electronics and electrical. The free app connects customers with brands in Klang Valley, including Delicious, Simplyd, Café Barbera, AWG, Brotzeit, Healthlane, Ecotint and many more.Shopwave delivers instant reward points called “Wavepoints” to users for just stepping through the door. As the shopper’s journey continues, they get the opportunity to scan participating brands and discover exciting products for more Wavepoints. Shoppers also get Wavepoints upon purchase.  Wavepoints can then be redeemed across all partner stores for a wide array of gifts and cash vouchers.“The core idea of Shopwave is to enhance the experience of Malaysian shoppers and make it rewarding for them when they step into their favourite malls and shop,” said Shopper360 group CEO, Chew Sue Ann.“We are growing at a good pace and our forward-looking merchant partners are progressing to the forefront of mobile marketing by adopting Shopwave for their businesses. What better way than to connect with shoppers where and when it matters most – while they shop,” she added. As part of its initiative to reinforce its benefits to shoppers, Shopwave recently gave out 10,000 roses to patrons of a popular shopping mall in Petaling Jaya (near KL), from 12 to 14 February. All the patrons had to do was either to like Shopwave Malaysia’s Facebook page or take a photo and hashtag it on Instagram with #shopwave4love to get a free Instaprint photo and a red rose.Shopwave reached at least 8,000 shoppers during this campaign and garnered about 1537 hashtags on Instagram as shoppers took photos against the picturesque backdrop of thousands of multi-coloured roses.During the same month, Shopwave also sent out its God of Prosperity crew to merchants’ outlets to give out CNY greetings, bonus points and limited edition Year of the Monkey cookies. Shoppers took the time to download the app and many took photos with the God of Prosperity.[gallery link="file" ids="128944,128945,128946,129171,129172,129173"]
