Shiseido bolsters headquarters in China, appoints new CMO

Shiseido will reinforce the regional headquarters system that oversees the business in China with new appointments, effective from 1 January.

Julie Chiang was appointed as CMO of cosmetics brands & personal care brands of China Region. Prior to the latest appointment, Chiang was CEO of Sunnyhills Company. Chiang also worked for L'Oreal Asia from 1998 to 2009.

Julia Li was made CPO of China region. Li boasts more than 10 years of experience in Asia. She has worked for Ermenegildo Zegna as HR director Greater China region prior to the latest appointment.

According to a press release from Shiseido, the strategic alliance with emerging e-commerce platform companies in the China region will be strengthened under direct control Kentaro Fujiwara, president and CEO of the China region.

The company also said it will continue leading growth through the acquisition of greater competitiveness of the Chinese business, and by reviewing the organisational structure to optimise functions for all areas and market characteristics around the world.
