Shanghai Commercial Bank names new chief of corp comms and marketing

Shanghai Commercial Bank has appointed Eva Leung (pictured) as chief of corporate communications and marketing.

In this role, Leung will lead Shanghai Commercial Bank’s corporate communications and marketing strategy, ensuring that its brand reflects the bank's mission, values, and the innovative work it does every day.

Leung, who has a strong track record in strategic communications, brand building, and stakeholder engagement, brings significant experience that aims to enhance the corporate narrative and strengthen connections with clients, partners, and communities.

Before her new role, Leung served as the head of marketing and executive director of the institutional banking group at DBS Hong Kong for over six years, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Prior joining DBS, Leung served as the country director at Collinson, a company specialising in customer loyalty solutions, travel insurance, and engagement strategies. In this role, she led the implementation of marketing automation with ongoing optimisation and held full profit and loss responsibility to drive company growth. She also offered comprehensive strategy consultancy, overseeing the design and deployment of customer relationship management and loyalty programs. Additionally, she integrated data, digital initiatives, and creativity to enhance the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, demonstrating a proven return on investment.

Previously, Leung worked at Nielsen for over five years, where she held the position of managing director for Greater China. In her role as country head for the Hong Kong and Macau business, she led both the commercial sales and operations teams, which comprised over 300 employees. She crafted and implemented strategies to increase sales, enhance customer satisfaction, boost employee engagement, drive product innovation, and strengthen the employer brand.

Back in March, Shanghai Commercial Bank sponsored the Pok Oi Cycle For Millions 2025 with LINE FRIENDS, organised by Pok Oi Hospital.The event aimed to raise funds for the Pok Oi Hospital Tuen Mun Lam Tei Nursing and Residential Care Home. Held at the Tsing Yi Stonecutters Bridge, the event attracted around 4,000 participants.

During the bicycle carnival, Shanghai Commercial Bank set up a booth with games to remind citizens to be vigilant against scams, aligning with its commitment to promoting awareness and education to enhance public understanding of these issues. Participants could win prizes such as bicycle locks, tail lights, and bells.
