Guest experience and retention platform for the hospitality industry SevenRooms has officially launched in both Hong Kong and Singapore, hoping to tap into the opportunities after the relaxation of COVID-19 related restrictions.

The company said its arrival in two markets comes at a time when operators are looking to the future, while simultaneously contending with the continued impacts of the pandemic, including staff shortages and evolving guest expectations. SevenRooms boasts experience in helping thousands of venues in hundreds of cities around the world transform its operations to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and cater to evolving consumer demands. After the launch, the local teams will be led by APAC general manager Paul Hadida.

“We’ve grown organically in the region over the last few years, with 1-Group, Jigger & Pony and Wine Connection among our existing local customers. The timing of our launch is very significant. Restrictions are easing at different rates, and while challenges remain, there is an excitement about what the future holds," said Hadida.

SevenRooms cited data from the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore which shows that the number of people employed in accommodation and F&B services in Singapore has dropped 13% from December 2019 to December 2021. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, social-distancing rules were relaxed on 21 April. In the first phase, many types of operations are allowed to reopen, including gyms, religious places, and sports venues. Groups are be capped at four people. Restaurants can offer dine-in service until 10pm with four diners allowed per table. Currently, restaurants can only offer dine-in services until 6pm, with two people per table.

Currently, SevenRooms works with thousands of restaurants across the globe, including nearly 750 restaurants throughout Hong Kong and Singapore. It has existing integrations with technology partners throughout the region, including Chope, OpenRice, Zomato, eats365, xnProtel, Bindo POS, Everyware, Revel Systems, Infrasys, Infogenesis, Micros Simphony 2 and ikentoo. Over the coming months, SevenRooms will continue to build out integrations across the region, in addition to opening offices in both Hong Kong and Singapore.

SevenRooms’ CRM-driven platform includes reservation, waitlist and table management, online ordering, contactless order and pay, review aggregation and marketing automation. The company said its offerings can help operators connect directly with guests and collect data across the customer journey, empowering operators to create meaningful and personal guest relationships both on- and off-premise that maximise profits, incentivise loyalty and cultivate exceptional experiences.

“We’re delighted to officially launch SevenRooms in Singapore and Hong Kong, empowering operators as they enter a new era for post-pandemic hospitality. These cities are two of the hospitality capitals of the world, offering a diverse array of restaurants known for their culinary excellence and incredible guest experiences," said Joel Montaniel, CEO of SevenRooms.

He added, "After two incredibly challenging years, we are helping the local industry return to its former glory. Through the opening of our local office, in addition to the planned expansion of our on-the-ground team, we are supporting the local hospitality sector, helping operators discover new ways to adapt and drive growth in an ever-evolving, competitive market.”
