Scripps Networks names new MD for Latin America and the Caribbean

Scripps Networks Interactive has appointed Eduardo Hauser (pictured) as managing director, Latin America and the Caribbean.He will report to Jim Samples, president, International, of Scripps Network.“ Hauser ’s extensive pan-regional media experience couples with his astute vision and entrepreneurial spirit will position Scripps Networks well as we look to evolve and expand our business across Latin America. Latin America is a rich media center, and with Eduardo at the helm, we are confident that we will be able to realise our full growth potential,” Samples said.Hauser will take on the strategic direction and daily operation of the company’s businesses across Latin America, which includes Food Network as well as the company’s distribution across the Caribbean. He will be tasked with identifying and evaluating growth opportunities in the region.Hauser was previously the EVP for Latin America at Aol, before which he spent a decade with Cisneros, where his last held position was the managing director, office of the chairman. He has also held senior leadership roles with Cricket Media and Venevision.Additionally, Hauser has developed two businesses. Hauser & Co. is an investment and advisory firm focused on media, technology, education and restaurants. The second, DailyMe, is a start-up offering personalization technology focused on the genre of news. He also helped to develop Soy TED, which is a TV format based on the TED Talk series targeting the Spanish-speaking audience.Hauser joins Scripps Networks Interactive from 7 March 2016 and will be based in Miami.
