ComfortDelgro has elevated CEO Yang Ban Seng (pictured) as its subsidiary, SBS Transit's new chief executive officer. He replaces former CEO Gan Juay Kiat, who resigned last year due to “personal indiscretion”. Yang has been managing director and group CEO for approximately two years with ComfortDelgro. In a statement to Marketing, SBS Transit chairman Lim Jit Poh said that Yang has been supervising the work of the SBS Transit management and is "well placed" to fill in for the position of CEO. He added that the bus and rail heads will report directly to him. "I have every confidence that the team will continue to focus on delivering good service to the communities we serve," he said. Yang is also the executive deputy chairman of SBS Transit and is a non-independent director of the company. He will be concurrently managing as the managing director/Group chief executive officer of ComfortDelGro and deputy chairman of VICOM, aside from his newly appointed CEO position. Prior to this, he was the chief executive officer of ComfortDelGro's Taxi Business in Singapore where he oversaw the operations of Comfort Transportation and CityCab. Before joining the group in 1989, Yang was an assistant director of the Ministry of Education, deputy director of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Trades Union Congress' Secretary for Cooperatives.
