Savour the joy of family dining with Maxim’s GENTLEMEAL

GENTLEMEAL (軟心膳) is Maxim’s Group’s soft-meal brand, created for individuals with dysphagia, or swallowing difficulties. Prepared in strict accordance with the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) level 4 pureed standards, each meal retains the authentic appearance, aroma, flavour, and presentation of the original dish, enabling seniors to dine with comfort, dignity, and enjoyment.

To suit familiar local preferences, GENTLEMEAL offers classic Chinese dim sum and Western-style set meals in soft-meal form. Its signature Dim Sum Platter includes traditional favourites such as shrimp dumpling, siu mai, chicken and seafood vegetable dumpling, and turnip cake.

Western options include the Herb Chicken Drumstick Rice Set with pumpkin, choi sum, and lemongrass turmeric rice, as well as the Swiss Chicken Wing Rice Set with carrots, choi sum, and lemongrass turmeric rice. For festive occasions, GENTLEMEAL also offers mooncakes in red bean paste and custard flavours, Longevity Buns, and Abalone and Sea Cucumber Poon Choi.

Fostering inclusive dining across generations

As Hong Kong’s population ages, the demand for specialised, dignified dining solutions grows rapidly. GENTLEMEAL replaces unappetising traditional blended food with beautifully shaped, thoughtfully seasoned dishes.

By introducing these offerings across Maxim’s Palace outlets, Tsuen Wan Jasmine and all Maxim’s MX outlets, Maxim's enables the elderly to enjoy yum cha and everyday family meals once again, actively promoting inclusive dining across generations.

Empowering elderly care homes through local support

Looking ahead, Maxim’s will collaborate with district services and care teams across all 18 districts in Hong Kong to set up dedicated care food stations that bring professional care closer to those in need. Speech therapists will conduct on-site swallowing assessments for elderly residents, and eligible individuals will receive complimentary vouchers for the GENTLEMEAL Dim Sum Platter.

Beyond providing timely support and nourishing meal options, these care food stations will have educational exhibitions to raise awareness of swallowing difficulties and promote understanding of care food. Through this effort, Maxim’s aims to expand access to dignified dining solutions and empower more people with dysphagia to enjoy delicious meals with confidence, comfort, and dignity.

To support local communities, Maxim’s invites elderly care homes and social service organisations to sample GENTLEMEAL through complimentary tastings. The group also offers GENTLEMEAL to elderly care homes at highly affordable prices, helping promote wider adoption of care food and enabling more seniors to rediscover the joy of dining.
