Sapporo is launching its first-ever pop-up bar at the Tsim Sha Tsui K11 Art Mall Piazza, offering participants the opportunity to discover the legacy of the Japan’s first beer and indulge in the premium beer experience on-site.

Designed with Sapporo’s signature black and orange brand colour and complemented by wooden elements, the pop-up bar creates a trendy and sophisticated atmosphere for participants to immerse themselves in the Sapporo beer experience. The pop-up bar will run from 16 to 28 September.

A large-scale Sapporo history milestone wall will also be displayed on-site, allowing participants to discover the history of the Japan’s first beer, from the founding of the Kaitakushi Brewery in 1876 under brewmaster Seibei Nakagawa, to Sapporo’s rise as a globally celebrated brand today.

To participate in the event, consumers can simply visit the venue, follow Sapporo’s official Instagram (@Sapporohk) or Facebook page (Sapporo Hong Kong), and like the pop-up bar event post. After verification by the on-site staff, then they will receive a beer redemption voucher (one per person).

With this voucher, participants can join the beer experience activity, where they’ll learn to pour their own Sapporo Draught Beer and enjoy it on-site. Guided by event promoters, participants will master the golden 7:3 ratio that balances the crispness of Sapporo beer with creamy foam for an exceptional tasting experience.

Not only can participants explore the charm of Sapporo beer at the event, but the first 25 participants each day who complete the following steps will also have the chance to take home the Sapporo's limited-edition can-shaped beer glass.

This comes after Sapporo updated its medium-to-long-term strategy designed to pursue accelerated, sustainable growth and corporate value creation. The pillars of this strategy will ensure the company has the optimal product investments, operational and management structure, financial targets, and capital allocation priorities to strengthen its leadership position in the global beverages and food sector.

To respond more effectively to diverse management challenges both domestically and internationally, the Sapporo Group will transition to a business holding company structure as the optimal organizational structure for achieving sustainable growth. The new structure will consist of two segments, domestic operations, and international operations, as well as corporate functions serving both segments.

The current alcoholic beverages, food and soft drinks, and restaurants businesses, as well as existing subsidiaries, will be reorganised under this new structure. The holding company transition is expected to begin in September 2025 and be completed in July 2026.

“Our strategic updates reflect a comprehensive analysis to define ambitious yet realistic objectives for the future of the Sapporo Group following our recent structural reforms,” said Rieko Shofu, managing director, Sapporo. “We have identified significant opportunities to further accelerate growth while capturing efficiencies and better aligning management structure to the needs of our global business. The outcome of this initiative is a strategic vision that will provide a robust foundation for sustained growth and profitability over the medium and long term.

“Sapporo will be defined by a spirit of transformation in the coming years. We are a premier enterprise with world-leading brands and capabilities and will increase investments in our flagship products while capitalising on consumer demand for non-alcoholic and ready-to-drink beverages. We are committed to maintaining a strong financial foundation, evaluating a range of inorganic growth opportunities, and moving ahead with our process to inject external capital into the real estate business.”
