Samsonite Asia has handed JWT Hong Kong with regional duties for its newly acquired luxury line, Hartmann, as well as lifestyle and sporty label, High Sierra. Both will be launched in Asia in the third quarter.
In the past, JWT has been creating regional campaigns for the company’s core Samsonite and American Tourister brands. The current appointment – a year after Samsonite has acquired the two new brands – will task the agency with introducing Hartmann across the APAC as well as expanding the presence and profile of High Sierra, which has a stronger presence in Australia and the Philippines.
“We are happy to continue our partnership with JWT due to their great work on our past campaigns,” said Ramesh Tainwala, president of Samsonite Asia Pacific and Middle East. “We hope this collaboration continues to produce effective campaigns for our growing portfolio of brands.”
In the past three years, Samsonite has seen the Step Out print and TV campaign, which saw a doctor and a yoga-practitioner teleport to their destinations from their offices with their suitcases.
Last year, JWT Hong Kong and Shanghai were also responsible for a TV and print campaign for American Tourister that featured young travellers playing a game of relay with suitcases against different global backgrounds.
