In major news for the Chinese advertising market, S4 Capital has announced that Shanghai creative agency TOMORROW will be merging with MediaMonks, S4's content practice. The merger was being filed with the London Stock Exchange as of press time.

Since its founding by CEO and industry veteran Rogier Bikker in 2015, TOMORROW has become one of China's most exciting and recognised creative shops. Its team of 50 has created award-winning integrated brand and social campaigns for brands like Burberry, Budweiser, Beyond Meat, Coca Cola, Starbucks, Crocs and Red Bull.

The merger expands MediaMonks' growing presence and capabilities in China, the world's second largest advertising market. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, Credit Suisse reports that online advertising in China posted strong growth (17.1%) by year's end, and is expected to grow even larger in 2021.

“I’ve always been a raging bull on China’s economy, its consumers and its brands. I’m delighted to welcome Rogier and his colleagues at TOMORROW to the S4Capital family, in what is a priority market for us and one of several more moves in what will become the largest economy in the world," said Sir Martin Sorrell, executive chairman of S4 Capital.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have built at TOMORROW and couldn’t be more excited about this next stage as we partner with MediaMonks and S4Capital to be a disruptive creative force in China," added Bikker.
