Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional has appointed Regina Lee as its new senior vice president of strategic communications and public affairs. She stepped into the role on 10 November, marking the end of her first two weeks with the organisation.

Lee most recently served as the head of group corporate communications at OSK Group, a position she left at the start of November after one and a half years with the property and investment conglomerate. She joined OSK Group in March 2024 to lead group-level communications and strengthen the company’s brand reputation.

In a LinkedIn post announcing her new appointment this morning (21 November), Lee said she will be responsible for developing and executing strategies across strategic communications, public affairs (including parliamentary engagement) media relations, and crisis communications. She reports to Shahira Ahmed Bazari, head of group sustainability and advocacy under the managing director's office.

Lee’s career spans corporate, agency, public sector, and newsroom roles. Before OSK Group, she led public relations at foodpanda Malaysia, where she built the PR function from scratch and fronted key initiatives such as the launch of Bekal by foodpanda and a partnership with AirAsia MOVE.

She previously spent over two years at UEM Sunrise as senior manager of PR and media, overseeing external and internal communications and driving a refresh of employee engagement and media perception efforts.

Earlier in her career, Lee held consultancy roles with Enghok Communications and Edelman Malaysia, following a four-year stint as press secretary to Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister. She began her career in journalism, having written for The Star, Malaysiakini and the New Straits Times.

In other people movements within the communications scene, Petronas had appointed Arni Laily Anwarrudin as its new senior general manager of strategic communications within the group strategic relations and communications division, effective 1 November 2025. In her expanded role, Arni will oversee enterprise-wide communications for Malaysia’s integrated energy company, spanning brand management, sponsorships, media relations, internal and external communications, and social impact initiatives.

Meanwhile, the Tun Razak Foundation (Yayasan TAR) appointed Siti Hajar Abdul Rahman as its new chief executive officer, effective 2 September. Bringing close to 20 years of experience in corporate communications and social impact initiatives, Siti Hajar stepped into the role with a focus on amplifying the foundation’s mission and broadening its community reach.
