RedMart appoints director of brand and acquisition marketing

RedMart has appointed Jean Thomas (pictured) as director of brand and acquisition marketing, during which he is tasked with growing RedMart in Singapore, improving public perception and getting offline supermarket shoppers to shop online on RedMart. Thomas reports to CEO of RedMart Roger Egan.

Prior to joining RedMart, Thomas was the CEO of publishing company Urban Walkabout based in Sydney, Australia for a year. Before that, he was the CMO for Vinomofo, an Australian startup selling wine. Thomas was also based in Shanghai for over a year, during which he was the CMO at Motion Global, an e-commerce company for designer glasses. He also worked at Ogilvy & Mather, and Beyond Media Global.

"Thomas' strong e-commerce marketing experience at companies such as Vinomofo, SmartBuyGlasses, Ogilvy & Mather, and Wego across Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Melbourne and Sydney will benefit RedMart as we continue to build our brand and increase online grocery penetration. He will be responsible for all markets RedMart enters, but we currently only operate in Singapore where we strive to give Singapore the best online supermarket experience possible," Egan said.

Earlier this year, RedMart’s former head of marketing, Jaime Ng, moved on from the company to join NTUC Link as its director of marketing, digital and brand. During her time at RedMart, Ng was responsible for steering, managing and optimising the organisation’s customer acquisition, which involves online performance and offline branding. This was for across channels such as search, mobile, display, social, affiliates partnership to out of home campaigns.
