QSR Brands has expanded its partnership with developer Matrix Concepts Holdings to bring KFC outlets to Bandar Seri Impian in Kluang, Johor. The move follows a recent collaboration and the launching of KFC’s 700th restaurant in Seremban recently.
Managing director of QSR Brands Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azahari said in a statement that the strategic partnership with prominent developers is an integral part of QSR Brands’ restaurants expansion strategy. This is because it is a key growth component proven to serve long-term benefits to the company.
"QSR Brands and Matrix Concepts have been able to achieve mutual business success by leveraging on each other’s strengths since our last partnership in 2017. Today’s strategic collaboration is another testimony of our aspiration to widen our foothold and continue to serve Malaysians better with our original and innovative offerings supported by our excellent service and quality dining experience provided,” he added.
Just last week, QSR Brands detailed expansion plans for its KFC and Pizza Hut brands following its upcoming IPO. According to a draft prospectus submitted to the Securities Commission, the company also aims to bolster its marketing initiatives to build its market position for both fast food brands.
With the proceeds, QSR has plans to open and/or relocate 35 KFC outlets by end of 2019 with cost ranging from RM1.1 million to RM2.2 million per outlet to strengthen market position. The expansion plans will stretch throughout Malaysia, including under penetrated cities and towns or other areas with potential for network expansion.
The group also plans to expand existing marketing initiatives to better engage with and promote products to consumers, maintain brand relevance and increase brand appeal. We will continue our promotional campaigns, through which we offer a rotating selection of our existing products at reduced prices, to increase traffic to our outlets.
