Publicis names Joanne de Rozario MD of Prodigious SG

Publicis Communications Singapore has appointed Joanne de Rozario (pictured) as managing director of Prodigious, the creative and production agency for Publicis Groupe. Current MD Peter Short will be leaving Prodigious in early November to pursue other opportunities.In her new role, de Rozario will lead the growth of the business and oversee the agency’s development and creation of content across various platforms for Prodigious clients; as well as for the breadth of Publicis Groupe clients in Singapore and the region. She will report to Lou Dela Pena, CEO of Publicis Communications Singapore and Michael Burgess, CEO of Prodigious APAC/MEA.According to Lou, there is not anyone more perfect for the role to drive Prodigious to the next level than de Rozario. "She brings a blend of experience from both the storytelling and the production delivery sides of the business. Her unique expertise that will be key change in deepening Prodigious’ offering in agile content creation and delivery,” she said.Meanwhile, Burgess said with her industry background, experience and energy, de Rozario is the right person to create value for the agency's clients through ongoing innovation and the evolution of the business to best serve clients' needs.De Rozario first joined Prodigious as executive director a year ago, where she played an integral role in setting up a self-contained content-creation facility called the Content Studio, which was designed to help brands deliver marketing and advertising solutions at scale, and with greater speed. Before joining Prodigious, she led a content marketing agency in Singapore called Brand New Media. Apart from managing the business, de Rozario led strategy, ideation and execution of campaigns and long-term content marketing plans to ensure strong ROI for brands. She was BNM's head of content and production for three years and also worked closely with Singapore Press Holdings.Previously she managed a production department for a Lifestyle channel, Life Inspired. Some of her responsibilities included overseeing staff, in-house productions, creating original content and overseeing its worldwide distribution, securing regional partners as well as negotiating sponsorship deals among others.According to her LinkedIn, de Rozario has also had a long stint with Media Prima. Her journey with content began with Media Prima as she started as an assistant producer in the newsroom and scaled her way to become head of production and presentation. Her scope of work extended beyond news productions and into live sporting events, as she also anchored the main English evening news. After leaving Media Prima in 2003 to join as executive producer for Fox International Channels in Hong Kong, de Rozario returned back to Kuala Lumpur to host a morning talk show with the Malaysian media company. She stayed then for three years before exploring other opportunities.“I’m honoured to have this opportunity to lead one of the most forward-looking and diverse cross-media firms in Singapore.
