Philip Pollock and Matthew Keegan find JOY to scale digital performance

Independent full-service agency JOY has appointed senior digital specialists Philip Pollock and Matthew Keegan as partners, in a move aimed at embedding performance data and digital insight at the core of its integrated offering.

The pair, both former senior leaders at Omnicom Media Group, will lead a newly formed digital performance team at JOY. Their remit includes expanding the agency’s capabilities across data, technology and performance media, servicing current clients, and driving new business.

Simon Rush, Principal at JOY, said the appointments mark a step-change for the agency as it sharpens its digital edge.

“Phil and Matt are two of the most respected and effective performance thinkers in the market,” Rush said. “Their leadership will take JOY beyond just elevating our media output – it will enable us to evolve into a more sophisticated communications business, fit for the future of marketing.”

Pollock joins from his role as Chief Operating Officer of OMG Digital ANZ and brings more than two decades of experience, including pioneering paid search in the early 2000s. Keegan was most recently National Managing Director at Resolution Digital and has spent over 15 years leading data-led digital marketing solutions.

Pollock said the opportunity to rebuild the agency model around data and transparency was a key driver: “Agencies have a massive opportunity to rethink and retool. We’re focused on bringing global best practice, local innovation, and real accountability to digital performance.”

Keegan added: “The chance to join an independent agency with the agility to move at speed was too good to pass up. There’s huge momentum in the sector, and JOY is perfectly positioned to lead through this next wave of marketing evolution.”

The hires come as JOY ramps up its ambition to become the independent agency of choice for brands looking to combine creativity with data intelligence, amid growing demand for performance-led solutions that deliver business results.
